NSPA RULES


Game Play
● Game duration: Four 9 minute quarters (36 total)
● Shot clock: 30 seconds (reset 20 seconds)
● Half-Time: 5 minutes
● Player Disqualification: Six fouls

NSPA Game Ending
● At the 3 minute mark the winning team will need to score 7pts to be declared winner. The NSPA ending is enacted at the first stoppage in play.
● All baskets scored before the NSPA ending will not count towards the 7pt.

FT bonus
● 5th team foul results in 2FTs
● Team fouls will reset every quarter
● Tech fouls will result in 2FTs & the ball.
● When either team has commits 2nd foul during NSPA ending 2 foul shots will be rewarded to the other team. If a team is already in the bonus heading into the NSPA ending they receive FTs on the first foul.
Timeouts
● Teams can sit down during all timeouts; 30 second or full
● Each team is awarded (3) full timeouts & (2) 30 seconds timeouts for the entire game.
● Coaches will lose a timeout if he/she hasn’t used at least (1) timeout by the end of the 3rd quarter.


Mercy Rule
● If during gameplay a team is ahead by 30 points or more the clock will continue to run and only stop during timeouts. The team losing must decrease the other team's lead to 14 points or less to stop the clock. There will be no NSPA ending enacted if either team is losing by 30 points or more. The final three minutes of the game will be played to conclude the game.

Continuation Rule
● If the move was a continuation, the shot counts and the shooter gets one free throw for the foul.
● If the shot was not a continuation, then it isn't a shooting foul, the basket does not count, and free throws depend on whether the fouling team is in the penalty
● The player who is fouled in the act of shooting cannot; stop forward moving motion, cannot take a dribble after the whistle is blown

Advancement of the Ball
● At the 3-minute mark of the 2nd & 4th quarter the ball can be advanced to either hash line/mark of the bench by the team who has possession.
● When the ball is advanced the shot clock must be set to 20 seconds ● Qualification of ball advancement is not permitted if a player commits a basketball action; passing the ball or dribbling of any kind. If any of these actions are committed the team will not be permitted to advance the ball.
